Why does brink lag so bad

Hey guys, accidentally stumbled on something that fixed it for me. Not sure if it'll help you guys, but it's worth a shot. I clicked the DLC link out of curiosity about what was available, and the steam overlay popped up to bring up the store page, but I noticed in the back that the game looked like it was running a lot smoother. I closed it and noticed this was actually the case. Like I said, it might not help you guys, and I don't know why this affects anything, but it's worth trying and only takes a few seconds to do.
