Who is cheating footballer imogen
I don't think so. The player was reported to have confessed the alleged affair to his wife towards the end of last month after much speculation in newspapers about his identity. Thomas continued: "I do believe that he was not a cheater usually. Yes, he has cheated, but he's not like the usual footballers you hear about cheating every single day. Thomas claimed that she was "totally in love" with the footballer but did not think about a future with him when they first met. Can we name the footballer?
Can Imogen? When I meet her despite the fact the case had led to a quasi constitutional crisis with the power of the courts simply overwhelmed by the sheer number of injunction breakers, Thomas still can't say the words "Ryan" and "Giggs" in any sort of sentence. Though that might be about to change. Because on Thursday, she was vindicated at the High Court.
This week Mr Justice Eady was told that the footballer now accepted there was no basis for an allegation of blackmail. And the judge also raised the question whether "there is no longer any point in maintaining the anonymity".
No ruling has yet to be made, but watch this space. For Thomas, it's an obvious relief. And I still don't now. I never want to. It's not in my interest. But it's difficult for me, because I was being accused of things and I know the truth and I am not allowed to say it. She is, in many ways, an unlikely champion of free speech. On the court's injunction order, Thomas said I've read the judgment and am stunned by how I'm portrayed.
Yet again, my name and my reputation are being trashed while the man I had a relationship with is able to hide. What's more, where's the fairness in this?
What about my reputation? Who could have guessed then that the article would have such far reaching consequences and provoke one of the biggest communal acts of civil disobedience in modern times? She was spotted near her London home weeping before holding her head in her hands and crumpling to the pavement. She said she was in love with him and he was in love with her. She thought it went much deeper.
Imogen was lovestruck. Imogen Thomas was many things, but she was certainly no victim. At a subsequent hearing in the High Court in London, the judge who granted the injunction gave his reasons for doing so. She then contacted him by text in March, which led him to conclude she was thinking of selling her story.
Giggs agreed to meet her in a hotel where he was staying last month. Whatever the truth, Miss Thomas eventually sold her story through Max Clifford. There were more revelations — giving a very different account of events, of course. She claimed she had only told her mother, Janette and sister Alana about the relationship.
Miss Thomas said they feared they may have been found out after she suspected someone was following her. But from then on, Miss Thomas only heard from Giggs through his lawyers. He was fighting a losing battle. At the weekend, a newspaper in Scotland published a photograph of Giggs and football fans mockingly chanted his name at a match with a worldwide audience.
